Velma the controversial animated spinoff of the Scooby-Doo franchise has already attracted both positive and negative attention since its announcement, with several changes to both the franchise's base story and characters, it wasn't hard to know that she would have a hard time attracting the public. The series registered very positive numbers in its first episodes, which at least shows that the public was curious to know how it would turn out. But I think that's the only good news for the production.

But, apparently, the effort was in vain and the animation became the worst rated animated series on IMDB with 1.3 out of 10 stars. On Rotten Tomatoes, Velma also has an average rating of 50% from critics and 6% from the public. Notes indicate that the public did not like the proposal, and perhaps few will finish the series.

Velma has been having problems since its pre-production, from the first trailer making fun of the public's face, to the acid tone (up to d+) how the script treats viewers, and mainly because of the creator's comments Mindy Kaling (The Office), who warned that the series is not for those who "hate protagonists who deviate from the norm".

Many people claim that the series appeals to the super sexualization of the characters, forcing the issue around woke themes without reason or sense and also extreme prejudice against people who are not aligned with political correctness and woke culture.

The future of animation is uncertain and maybe that old phrase will come in handy: "Who seals doesn't profit!". But it will profit, because a certain part of the public will watch it even if it is to criticize.

The animation tells the origin of Velma Dinkley, who will have Mindy Kaling (The Office) as the original English voice. The cast includes Constance Wu as Daphne, Sam Richardson as Shaggy and Glenn Howerton like Fred.

Velma is available on HBO Max starting January 12th with new episodes every Thursday.

I like several different works, but with a tendency for strange and funny stories.

I like arts, games, drawings and interesting things.
