Micro Magazine that the light novel Let This Grieving Soul Retire! (Nageki no Bōrei wa Intai Shitai: Saijaku Hunter ni Yoru Saikyō Party Ikusei-jutsu) will be adapted into an anime, along with a teaser revealed, team members and the main cast duo.

The pair of main characters will be played by Kenshō Ono as Krai Andrey and Miyu Kubota as Tino Shade.

The anime will be produced at the studios of Zero-G and Saber Links, with Masahiro Takata (High-Rise Invasion, The Family Circumstances of the Irregular Witch, The Iceblade Sorcerer Shall Rule the World) as director, Hideki Shirane (Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?, Aria the Scarlet Ammo, Date A Live) as screenwriter, Yūsuke Isouchi (Science Fell in Love, So I Tried to Prove It) and Shingo Fujisaki for character design and Ryōhei Sataka (Release the Spyce, D4DJ First Mix, Do It Yourself!!) for soundtrack composition.

Risa Tsushima is directing the art with Shūhei Tada being credited for the art setup, while Saho Yamane is credited as an assistant on the art setup. Others who are part of the team are: Atsushi Furukawa, Yoshinori Tomo, Kōsuke Tanaka and Masaki Utsunomiya.

Let This Grieving Soul Retire! (Nageki no Bōrei wa Intai Shitai: Saijaku Hunter ni Yoru Saikyō Party Ikusei-jutsu) is a work by the duo Tsukikage and Chyko, and of adventure and comedy follows the story of treasure hunters, hungry for wealth, fame, power and glory, who risk their lives on treasure chests across the world. Krai and his childhood friends vowed to become the greatest ever, but that dream should have died the day Krai realized he wasn't cut out for the job! However, expectations continue to rise, along with Krai's fear for his life. As his childhood friends move closer to realizing his dream, this grieving soul has one simple wish: pack up everything and retire!

Tsukikage began serializing the story on the website Shōsetsuka ni Narō in January 2018, ending it in December 2018. Micro Magazine published the first volume printed with illustrations by Chyko in August 2018 and published the 10th volume in May 2023. The 11th volume will be released on February 29.

A manga adaptation was released by Rai Hebino on Kadokawa's ComicWalker website in April 2019.
