The official website for the anime Jujutsu Kaisen announced that the anime will get a third season that will continue adapting the manga's story, the new season will enter the “Culling Game” (Shimetsu Kaiyū) Arc of the manga. It was also confirmed that studio MAPPA will continue to produce the anime. The last season that was adapting the "Shibuya Incident" arc ended this Thursday.

The second season premiered on July 6, with Crunchyroll broadcasting the episodes shortly after they aired in Japan. The second season aired for two courses (quarters of the year) in one continuous semester, adapting the “Hidden Inventory / Premature Death” arc (“Kaigyoku/Gyokusetsu”) and the “Shibuya Incident” arc from the original manga by Gege Akutami. The "Hidden Inventory/Premature Death" arc aired from July 6 to August 3, and then the show aired two compilation episodes on August 10 and August 17. The "Shibuya Incident" arc began on August 31 and consisted of 18 episodes.

The first season of the Jujutsu Kaisen anime premiered in October 2020 and had 24 episodes. The anime film Jujutsu Kaisen 0 premiered in Japan in December 2021 and with English subtitles and English dubs in the US and Canada in March 2022.

The work is originally a manga created by Gege Akutami who launched it in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in March 2018.
