The developer of Iron Gate revealed that the new update for Valheim "Ashlands" will be released sometime in the first half of 2024. A very wide release window, but as usual it will still reach public testing first and then be released in the full game.
This update is already taking a long time to be released, and the last major update for Valheim "Mistlands" was launched in November 2022, and after that only small corrections and minor updates.
And to complement the announcement, Iron Gate released the first video in a series called "Walk & Talk" that will provide details about the game's current development. This first one talks about the update development process, as well as the team behind the game.

"Ashlands" will bring a new biome to the game, a volcanic land full of new enemies and items to look for. The update will also add a new system to the game.
Valheim was released in February 2021, taking players together with up to 10 friends into a brutal world, to explore a vast region set in a procedurally generated purgatory, inspired by Viking culture, while trying to conquer glory in a saga worthy of Odin's blessing!
