It has been over a decade since Suikoden's last game hit the shelves, but members of the original creative team are building a spiritual successor. Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes was announced last week alongside a promising set of early images, and the game is already rocking Kickstarter.

Eiyuden Chronicle's Kickstarter went live around 1 pm today, July 27, and reached 50% of its funding target in 40 minutes, as Nibel notes on Twitter. Right after the launch of Kickstarter, the crowdfunding site itself went down - perhaps it's a coincidence, but we prefer to believe that the power of JRPG fans has overwhelmed these servers.

Even with the Kickstarter disruption, Eiyuden Chronicle managed to reach its total funding target of ¥ 54,000,000 - about $ 500,000 - in just over two hours. That's enough to bring us the basic PC version, but other goals include a city-building system and, worth $ 1,000,000, ports for current and next generation consoles.

I like several different works, but with a tendency for strange and funny stories.

I like arts, games, drawings and interesting things.
