Sony Pictures Entertainment has announced the teaser trailer for the new CG-animated film in the Resident Evil franchise, the film titled Resident Evil: Death Island is the sequel to Resident Evil: Vendetta and will premiere later this year, and will feature the presence of Jill Valentine who had been forgotten in the franchise for some time.

Agent Leon S. Kennedy is on a mission to rescue Dr. Antonio Taylor of the kidnappers, when a mysterious woman thwarts his pursuit. Meanwhile, B.S.A.A. Agent Chris Redfield is investigating a zombie outbreak in San Francisco, where the cause of the infection cannot be identified.
The only thing the victims have in common is that they've all visited Alcatraz Island recently. Following this lead, Chris and his team head to the island, where a new horror awaits.
Resident Evil: Death Island is directed by Eiichiro Hasumi (Assassination Classroom) from a script by Makoto Fukami (Psycho-Pass) and opens in 2023.
