Coming to Steam is the indie Cookie Cutter, a hand-drawn 2D metroidvania, with a gorgeous techno-punk style where you take control of Cherry, a furious android on a mission to rescue his beloved creator. Developed by Subcult Joint LTD and distributed by Rogue Games, Inc., Cookie Cutter will be released sometime in 2023.

Inside a dark and cold laboratory hidden deep within the infamous Megastructure, mechanic Raz searches for his missing friend Dr. Shinji Fallon, but instead finds a crumbling laboratory and a nearly destroyed android awakening from a life-preserving sleep. Her name is Cherry, an android who comes to life with a high-tech combination wielding a mortal soul.
His creator and girlfriend, the love of her life, Dr. Shinji Fallon has been kidnapped by a demented madman and now Cherry intends to make him, and anyone or anything she gets in his way, pay. And with a little help and mechanical expertise from Raz, Cherry will go from companion to assassin.
Cookie Cutter was designed for more experienced players, the levels are difficult and unforgiving, full of blood and violence. Explore and traverse a huge and beautiful dystopian world, fight outrageous enemies and absolutely massive bosses while forming allies with a huge cast of over-the-top, irreverent characters. Experience a visually stunning adventure packed with crazy weapons, humor and awesome gameplay presented in an accessible way, ensuring players of all skill levels can join the fray.
During the game, you will be able to improve Cherry's abilities, unlocking a robust variety of new abilities and weapons, such as chainsaws, plasma cannons, guitar slides, mechanical fists and motorcycles.
The game has a huge variety of combat styles and locations to explore, from exciting combat in dynamic areas to a constant stream of strange enemies, immerse yourself in the ever-evolving game mechanics. Cookie Cutter delivers all the depth, platforming, puzzle solving, and combat that savvy metroidvania fans have come to expect from the best of the genre.
Cookie Cutter features hybrid fighting/platform gameplay, with highly stylized environments and objectives serving as the backdrop for fast-paced combat. On the way to victory, the player is faced with environmental hazards, villains, bosses and an unfolding plot told in successive areas, meant to be enjoyed in longer game sessions. It is also worth mentioning the incredible art direction that the game has, with environments that jump out at the eyes, beautiful and rich in detail, with rooms inspired by other games of the style, as well as Japanese manga, classic films such as some by Quentin Tarantino, and even in HP Lovecraft.
