Bandai Namco published a new video recapping the plot of the Tekken franchise, preparing players for the events that will come in the next game. The video is narrated by actor Brian Cox, known for works such as Tróia and Succession. Tekken 8 will continue the battle between the Mishima and Kazama clans, a violent family rivalry that now involves the entire world.
Having passed almost six years since the events of Tekken 7, and adding another chapter to the plot recognized by Guinness as the oldest narrative in the history of video games, it is understandable that the memory of some important events can be confused. In Tekken 8, like “The Dark Awakens,” Kazuya Mishima's vision of hell on earth is now threatening all of humanity. After Heihachi's defeat, the world was plunged into chaos with Kazuya's power growing and his G Corporation wreaking havoc across the world. The only one who can stop him is his own son, Jin Kazama, but only if he can reignite the indescribable power of Devil Jin that courses through his veins.
The entire trajectory up to this point is explained in the trailer. Where things go from here will become clear in Tekken 8's epic Story Mode. Players will experience the Tekken saga like never before, with stunning visual details and all the features coming to the new game, participating in exciting battles with completely revamped characters, destructible environments and a new “Aggressive” battle system that keeps the action high level.
Tekken 8 will be the first main game in the franchise since Tekken 7 released in 2017, and is in development for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series S|X and will be released on 26 of January.
