The film based on the hit Minecraft has been in production for some time, but now the portal Deadline has brought more information about the film. The main news is that actor Jack Black joined the cast to give life to Steve, the main character in games that players control. It had previously been revealed that actor Jason Momoa will be the protagonist of the film.

The film Minecraft, is scheduled to premiere in April 2025, is being directed by Jared Hess, known for the series 'The Last Guy on Earth' and the film 'Nacho Libre'. In addition to Jason Momoa and Jack Black, the cast will also feature Emma Myers, Danielle Brooks and Sebastian Eugene Hansen

The film's story is still a secret, with the writers having not been announced. This Minecraft adaptation is being produced by Vertigo and co-financier Legendary, in addition to the participation of Mojang and Microsoft.

Producers include Roy Lee, Jon Berg, Mary Parent, Cale Boyter, Momoa, Torfi Frans Olafsson, Vu Bui and Jill Messick, who recently passed away. Executive producers are Todd Hallowell, Kayleen Walters, Brian Mendoza and Jonathan Spaihts.
