NVIDIA presented during the technology fair CES 2024, a new trailer for Half-Life 2 RTX, the video shows a comparison between the version original and new, and it is possible to notice a great visual improvement. The project uses NVIDIA's incredible tools to modernize Valve's classic, bringing much more beautiful visuals thanks to technologies such as path tracing.

Orbifold Studios is working on Half-Life 2 RTX, a team made up of four experienced Half-Life 2 modders, who created the main mods available for the original game.
For this new version of this classic title, the studio recreated the game's materials, in addition to giving more details to the geometries. This resulted in an average of 8 times more pixels in textures and 20x more geometric details when compared to the original Half-Life 2.
Half-Life 2 RTX does not yet have a release date, but it will arrive on PC in the future.
