Compile Heart announced Death end re;Quest Code Z, the third title in the Death end re;Quest series, which will be released in Japan for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch on September 19, 2024.
Death end re;Quest Code Z is a roguelike RPG that differs from the turn-based RPG format of the previous two games. Taking place in Strain Area, a 3D dungeon that changes its structure with each visit, with changes in terrain, enemies, traps and items. The game will feature a completely new story, but will feature the return of characters already known from the franchise, and will also add new characters as the player cooperates with the new protagonist, Sayaka Hiwatari.
Death end re;Quest Code Z will have a high adult-only rating (in Japan it will be CERO Z), due to the intense depictions of violence and death that players of the first two games will be familiar with.
Like the other games in the franchise, Death end re;Quest Code Z will initially be released in Japan, and should reach the West at a later date.
