"My Dress-Up Darling" anime premieres in January

It was revealed by the anime adaptation team of the manga My Darling Dress Up (Sleep Doll Bisque wa Koi wo Suru) the first promotional video of the anime. The video reveals a lineup for a pair of protagonists, and also that the anime will debut in January 2022.


The main cast will feature Hina Suguta as Marin Kitagawa and Shōya Ishige as Wakana Gojō.



The anime will be produced at the studio CloverWorks, directed by Keisuke Shinohara (Black Fox, A3! Spring and Summer Season), screenplay by Yoriko Tomita (As Miss Beelzebub Like, Osamake: Romcom Where The Childhood Friend Doesn't Miss), character design created by Kazumasa Ishida (Kiznaiver, Saekano the Movie) who will also be the chief animation director. Songs by Takeshi Nakatsuka (Magical Girl Ore, Brothers Conflict) and sound direction by Akiko Fujita.

The story accompanied Wakana Gojō, a young man traumatized by a childhood incident with a friend who disliked his love for traditional dolls. Now up-and-coming doll craftsman Wakana Gojō spends his days as a solitary recluse, finding solace in his school's craft room. For him, people like the beautiful Marin Kitagawa, a popular girl who is always surrounded by a crowd of friends, is practically an alien being from another world. But when cheerful Marin, who isn't shy, sees Wakana sewing the day after school, she invades her life with the goal of dragging her silent classmate into her secret pastime: cosplay.

My Dress-Up Darling (Sleep Bisque Doll wa Koi wo Suru) is a manga reference, and was created by Shinichi Fukuda released in Young Gangan magazine in January and 2018, with its eighth publican volume on this Monday.
