During an interview with Octane Japan, Kazunori Yamauchi offered an important insight into the nature of the next generation experience packaged by Polyphony Digital with the Gran Turismo 7 project for PS5.

Talking to journalist Toshifumi Watanabe, the founder and top exponent of the historic PlayStation Studios subsidiary wanted to open a window (or, rather, a door) on the GT7's simulation dimension to explain what forms the title will take:

"Gran Turismo Sport may have seemed a little unusual to some people. However, it is my intention to go back to basics and embrace the philosophy of the first four chapters of Gran Turismo again, while inheriting some elements of GT Sport, like the FIA Championship. "

For the deus ex machina of the Polyphony Digital team, therefore, the next act in the acclaimed Gran Turismo® series will be a “traditional” title, although there are several points of contact with the leisure and content offer that characterized Gran Turismo Sport.

In fact, Yamauchi's stated intention is "to provide our fans with the best Gran Turismo experience possible", blending what came with the previous titles and the GT Sport, with new and functional implementations.

Gran Turismo 7 will be released in 2021 exclusively for PS5.

I like arts, games, drawings and interesting things.
