Indie developer Sunnyside Games, in partnership with Dear Villagers, have announced the launch of Nocturnal a platform game coming to PC and consoles in the second quarter of 2023. The game is an odyssey of exploration and action inspired by ancient Persia, where players will have to repel a nefarious fog that envelops their land, and for that they will be able to manipulate fire to discover the secrets hidden in the darkness.

After a difficult journey across a turbulent sea, Ardeshir, soldier of the eternal flame, returns to his island, Nahran. A peculiar fog is covering the island and the only way to cross it is to brandish yourself like fire to clear a path. But the Mist can also reveal incredible places and grant powerful abilities to those willing to explore its mysteries. Challenging combats and various enemies stand between you and your goal: to free the island from darkness.
In Nocturnal a mysterious fog covers the island and chases you as soon as it notices you. Make your way inside to discover its source and put an end to it. But be careful: you can't inhale the mist, so you'll need to use your wits as you sense new ways to protect yourself. As fog is your enemy, fire will be your ally on your journey. It can drive away fog, ignite the scenery, activate mechanisms, and be used to burn magical beings immune to conventional weapons.
The mist blankets vast space and holds powerful abilities for those who explore its mysteries. Earn ashes by killing enemies and exploring the environment; and make an offering to the phoenix statues to gain new skills and stat boosts you need to survive.
