The anime's official website My Life as Inukai-san's Dog (Inu ni Nattara Suki na Hito ni Hirowareta, literally If I Became a Dog I Would be Picked Up by the Person I Like) just published a new trailer where it reveals that its premiere will be on January 6. The anime will air on Japanese channels Tokyo MX and BS11.

Alongside the trailer, new promotional art was also revealed (at the side). The anime will be produced at studio Quad, with Takashi Andō directing, Hisashi Saito (Date A Live) will be the visual director, while Kazuaki Morita (Danganronpa The Animation) will design the characters. Tatsuya Kikuchi (Hidamari Sketch × Honeycomb) is composing the music, and Kōhei Yoshida (ODDTAXI) is the sound director.

Inu ni Nattara Suki na Hito ni Hirowareta is a "romantic comedy from a dog's point of view" full of ecchi scenes, and follows the protagonist who suddenly wakes up and discovers that he has turned into a pet dog, and its owner is his classmate, the beautiful Karen Inukai. While in high school Karenis cool and expressionless at home she adores her pet dog.

Itsutsue Furukawa launched the work in Kodansha's Shōnen Magazine R in 2020, and it was also published on the magazine's website Magazine Pocket, already having four volumes published.
